Getting to Scadu Altus:

Normally, you would need to finish Castle Ensis (the legacy dungeon) and defeat the powerful boss there to gain access.

Alternatively, there's a secret entrance in the Gravesite Plains that features a spirit spring to launch you directly into Fort Reprimand, from where you can access the Ruined Forge.

How to Complete the Ruined Forge of Starfall Past

1. Start at the Site of Grace

Once you've rested at the site of grace, enter the main room. Cross the bridge to reach a closed gate at the bottom.

You'll encounter Misbegotten enemies here, so be prepared for combat.

Pull the lever to open the gate, but before you drop down, make sure to check the opposite end of the room to grab the Smithscript Spear.

2. Dealing with the Fire Slimes

After passing through the newly opened gate, be cautious of Fire Slimes shooting flaming spears.

You'll encounter a Stone Construct behind rubble to the right. Sneak past it and continue down the corridor to find more Fire Slimes.

Defeat them and grab any Elden Ring items you find, then head up a ladder.

3. Lava-Sided Room

In the next area, you'll be in a lava-sided room. Fire Slimes will attack immediately once you turn a corner.

Grab the item at the back corner of the room, then head towards the elevated slime and run through the corridor.

4. Suspended Platform

You'll be on a suspended platform above the room you just entered. There's a locked gate and a lever beneath you.

Before dropping down, enter the side room to find a Smithing Talisman. Be careful as a horde of Fire Slimes will drop in once you enter.

Once the slimes are dealt with, head back to the suspended platform and drop onto the bridge below.

5. Stone Constructs and the Smithscript Cirque

Here, you'll face two Stone Constructs. It's better to sneak past them. Rush to the back of the room to find the Smithscript Cirque.

After grabbing the item, return to the gate and pull the lever to open it.

6. Forge Access

Ride the gate up, and you'll gain access to the Ruined Forge.

Interact with the forge to claim the Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone and the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword.
