Diablo 4: Season Of Hated Rising - Realmwalker Activity Guide
Dec-19-2024 PSTDiablo 4: Vessel of Hatred is kicking off with a Season of Hatred Rising, a fairly light season that adds Realm walkers to the game. These massive demons act as mobile portals to hell, summoning hundreds of demons into the open world. Make your way to a Realmwalker, eliminate hordes of demons, and slay the mighty beast to unlock a short dungeon.
These Realmwalker dungeons award a ton of Diablo 4 Gold and the new Seething Opals consumable, which allows you to modify enemy drop tables with crafting materials, additional equipment, or even boss summoning materials. If you want to maximize your XP and loot drops this season, you'll want to slay a Realmwalker whenever possible. This guide will explain how to do just that and how Seething Opals work.
How To Unlock The Realmwalker Activity
The Realmwalker activity is tied to Season of Hatred Rising, Diablo 4's sixth season. You'll need to create a seasonal character to access this activity. During character creation, just before you finalize your character, make sure their chosen realm is the current season.
Once you've made a character, complete the quest "Creeping Hatred" in Hawezar. The quest should already be in your quest journal. Speak with Crusader Damond in the hub area to learn about the recent Realmwalker threat. All future Realmwalker spawns will now appear on your map, allowing you to participate in the seasonal activity.
Realmwalker Guide
Realmwalkers will appear in Sanctuary roughly every ten minutes. Check your map to see when the next Realmwalker will appear. The boss will be marked as a portal icon on the world map. Ignore the Realmwalker skull icons on your map; they don't spawn the boss.
Once the timer hits zero, a Realmwalker will rise from the ground and begin summoning demonic portals. To damage the Realmwalker, you need to eliminate monsters the Realmwalker summons. When you kill enough ads, three Elite monsters will spawn near the Relamwalker. Eliminate them, and repeat the process two more times to drop the Realmwalker's immunity.
A few pylons will spawn near the Realmwalker at this point, acting as the last line of defense for this massive creature. Break all three of them to start the DPS phase. The Realmwalker will now be vulnerable to all incoming damage. There's no damage gating here; use everything you have.
If you're successful in slaying the Realmwalker, it'll collapse and spawn a portal into an instanced dungeon. Enter the portal when you're ready. The dungeon is where you'll be getting your rewards from.
Realmwalker Dungeon
Inside the Realmwalker dungeon is a fairly small tileset that's crammed with enemies. Clear the first floor and reach the exit to find a Realmwalker portal. Upon interacting with the portal frame, you'll be able to choose one of four reward types. This will influence the types of Seething Opals you'll earn upon clearing the dungeon.
This second floor will be dotted with a few portals you can enter. These will spawn a random encounter with a small bundle of rewards, ranging from a few Elite monsters to a surprise Butcher encounter. Clear the floor and reach the end to find a small arena. You'll need to kill four Elite Guardians to spawn your rewards. Open the chest when you're done to claim your Opals.
Outside your usual bundle of Legendary gear and materials, the main reason to clear a Realmwalker activity is for Seething Opals. This is a new currency type exclusive to Season 6 that acts as an XP multiplier and loot enhancer. While active, all enemies with drop tables will be able to drop additional Diablo 4 items based on your consumed Opal. For example, an Opal of Materials gives all monsters a chance to drop crafting materials and herbs.
Seething Opals have the added benefit of awarding seasonal vendor XP as well. All monsters you kill, while an Opal is active, will award a small chunk of vendor XP, making it possible to level the seasonal vendor without having to fight a Realmwalker. Of course, you can choose to farm the Realmwalker itself to quickly level the seasonal vendor.
